Another year is ending, marking an important moment for us as well: 25 years of Sensile Technologies. It’s the perfect opportunity to look back over our history and look forward together to 2025 with enthusiasm!
Innovation, team spirit and love of a job well done – this is essentially what has guided Sensile Technologies throughout this quarter century. Behind our success are years of effort, perseverance and challenges overcome with determination.
We look back fondly on our early days. Who could imagine the breakdown on our first 700-unit installation at a customer’s site being caused by cleaning staff unplugging the equipment every evening when vacuuming? Since then, we’ve grown considerably. We have now installed more than 100,000 telemetry units in over 70 countries.
This success is first and foremost thanks to the people who have been and continue to be part of our adventure. This year, we had the pleasure of welcoming Cosmin and Henri, two brilliant firmware engineers, as well as Silvia, who has distinguished herself by her dynamism at the head of our business development. In terms of products, this year we deployed our first telemetry units communicating over NB-IoT. More and more countries are now offering this communication technology, in addition to CAT-M1. This is a very encouraging development for our IIoT solutions, which take full advantage of the low energy consumption that enables extensive connectivity. We have also continued to support our customers in the transition linked to the gradual phasing out of 2G in Europe: our Track-Up module has made it possible to plan the replacement of 2G equipment efficiently. We will be doing the same next year in Switzerland as 3G is phased out.
Another 2024 highlight was our participation in four major trade fairs: UNITI Expo (Stuttgart), European Liquid Gas Congress (Lyon), Lubricant Expo (Düsseldorf) and LPG Week (Cape Town). These events provide us with an ideal opportunity to talk to our partners and keep abreast of market developments.
As members of the WIKA Group, we look forward to continuing to broaden our horizons, contributing to IIoT advances and the challenges of Industry 4.0 alongside our IIoT colleagues in Germany, France and the USA.
