September took us from Lubricant Expo in Düsseldorf to Liquid Gas Week in Rio de Janeiro, across two continents and two sectors that reflect our customers’ diverse challenges. Between a European market seeking optimisation and a rapidly expanding South American market, our IIoT telemetry solutions struck a strong chord.
Lubricant Expo: efficiency at the heart of discussions
The lubricants industry in Europe is facing limited growth — or even decline — with the electrification of the vehicle fleet. For operators on the Old Continent, the key is therefore to optimise existing processes and foster customer loyalty. It is precisely in these areas that our IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) telemetry solutions add value, whether for monitoring lubricant tanks or other tanks used in the oil, gas or chemical industries.
At Lubricant Expo, we demonstrated how predictive consumption analysis and estimating the best time to refill can optimise delivery and drainage, reduce logistics costs and provide a more reliable service that improves customer satisfaction. This contributes significantly to the digitalisation of industrial operations, which is a key area of development.
Liquid Gas Week: a promise of growth
In Brazil, the dynamic was quite different. This market is the seventh largest consumer of liquefied gas worldwide. With the ‘Gas for All’ programme, the government wants to offer low-income families a cleaner alternative to wood and coal.
Liquid Gas Week was an opportunity to present our remote monitoring solutions for LPG tanks at a stand shared with WIKA do Brasil. This local subsidiary is a long-standing player in the country and one of the market leaders in sensors for the oil and gas industry. Our joint presence not only promoted the collaboration within the WIKA Group but also facilitated our contact with local visitors and strengthened the impact of our attendance.
While most visitors came from Latin America, we also established contacts in Africa and Asia. These exchanges confirm that growth in the gas sector over the next decade will largely take place in these regions.
Oil Link™: our cloud portal makes the difference
Oil Link™ attracted a great deal of interest at both trade shows. This secure cloud platform gives our customers remote access to telemetry data collected in the field (tank levels, temperatures, etc.). The information is analysed in real time to generate forecasts, trigger alerts and automate actions such as delivery or drainage planning. Thanks to the TrackUP™ module, even installation and maintenance campaigns are centralised, with automated assignment and tracking of technicians’ tasks, enabling large-scale deployment and management.
The results are controlled logistics, reduced costs and lower CO₂ emissions, with the added peace of mind from knowing that the data is hosted in Switzerland, protected by encryption and accessible only to its owner.
Dates already set
The next two events are already in our diary: Lubricant Expo in Düsseldorf, 15-17 September 2026, and Liquid Gas Week in Istanbul, 12-16 October 2026. In the meantime, you can also find us at Uniti Expo in Stuttgart, 19-21 May 2026.
